T IN THE PARK: CALVIN FAR FROM SAME OLD, SAME OLD
As he prepares for another banging live appearance at T in the Park next month, Calvin Harris has revealed that there is no way that he’ll be coming with a mundane, stereotypical show.
The Scottish wonder kid was reminiscent on how hard a gig he had last year at the festival, saying that a 2pm slot was a pathetic time to throw on a top dance act! Maybe the event organisers should have spoken to GMTV bosses, who last year cancelled Harris for being unsuitable for their morning programme.
This year however, he’s bagged a nice and late Friday night slot in the King Tut’s tent and he insists that fans will be pleasantly impressed. He said: "Being inside the tent is probably the biggest factor of all. You have to remember dance music comes from clubs, it's made for clubs.”
Showing a bit of passion for our beloved dance music he added: “It’s a lot easier in so many ways. There’s no rehearsals, no hassle – you just head off with your tunes and do your own thing.”
Speaking on a new album, which is in hot demand from fans, he went on to say that he’s not in any rush to get one out any time soon. And judging by his relentless touring schedule over the past year who are we to blame him?
We’re sure he’ll be knocking about the airwaves in some form or another whether it is a remix here and there or a genius future collaboration. For now, with festival season gearing into full-swing, let the sun – or moon in this case – shine down on him!
Calvin Harris will be performing at T in the Park on Friday 9th July.
